Addressing Critical End of Life Issues has chronicled various cases of persons, teenagers and children even, who were previously determined “brain dead”only to be successfully revived into full health before their organs could be harvested. Thank God! End of life care is always going to be an important issue for anyone with a proper sense of the inviolable dignity of the human person. Fr. Earl Fernandes, Assistant Professor of Moral Theology at the Athenaeum, has recently given two talks about such decisions in the public forum. He has kindly lent the St. James Project both PowerPoint illustrations of these talks, here and here. He has additionally provided us with the Catholic Advance Health Care Directive which presents a radically different approach to the end of one’s life than the common “living will.”
